Day to Day Life: Week Twenty-One

Someday soon I will get back to sharing more recipes, rather than just these weekly photo posts. In the meantime, the last week:

Early in the week, we were still in the hospital with Silas. There was a koi pond we visited frequently once Si was allowed to wander around outside, as we was essentially pain-free by the end of last week.

The day before (Monday) Silas got released, we asked if he could leave the hospital in-between his IV medications to grab some dinner (and to get his restless self out of the hospital). We had 3 hours of freedom and the little dude requested enchiladas and time at the mall (haha).

OUT! As of Tuesday late-morning!

While we were at the hospital, our poppies started popping…

And I absolutely missed cooking! And craved my own homemade pizza!

An experiment pie with oyster mushrooms, pesto, garlic, smoked cheddar, rosemary and mozzarella. (YUM.)

I also experimented with bath bomb making. I want to recipe-tweak more before I maybe share with you. ;)

The stuff nightmares are made of!!! Where is the floor? COVERED in dirty laundry. UGHHHH.

I had a lunch date with my buddy Janet… Sammich! And this special was outta this world! House brined and roasted turkey, crispy house roasted pork belly, swiss cheese, a spicy strawberry sauce, arugula and mayo! I could eat one (or four) of these every dang day.

Vincent’s lady had a birthday this week! I made her a surprise birthday cake.

Then she and Vincent baked another cake that was going to be for her birthday party the following day…

I forgot to eat dinner last night and so at about 9:30 I decided to make cheese-filled crepes. (Silas agreed this was a good idea.)

There was a mama black bear with two cubs hanging out in downtown Ashland yesterday… in this tree… in someone’s yard… right next to the local park.

I hope you’ve had a good week!
