Everyday Life: Weeks 9 and 10

Since I neglected to post last week’s photos, I’m doubling up this week!

Here’s a look at Everyday Life: Weeks 9 and 10

While the snow has since melted, two weeks ago, Percy was still enjoying it in our backyard.

Our kitchen still has work to be done, but I am thoroughly enjoying it so far!Forbidden Rice Blog - Every Day Life 2018 - Week 9

Opie and his favorite toy…

I pack my husband’s lunch about 3 times a week. Generally he requests the same thing every time:  half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, half a cheese sandwich (with vegenaise, yellow mustard, lots of fresh cracked pepper), a smoothie (this one with bananas, whole milk, vanilla whey protein, peanuts, cashews, chia seeds, oats, raw cacao, spinach, dates and maca powder), a Perfect Bar (this flavor is my current favorite!) and a banana.

Two weeks ago, Silas’s school had conferences, which means the kids don’t go to school for three days. However, lunch time at home was leftover wings Silas brought over from his mom’s house, mac and cheese, with a side of lots of catch-up Spanish work.

This sad looking Elmo is one of Percy’s favorite toys. She’s had it since she was a puppy (I think it was Silas’s at some point in time). Since this photo he’s stopped talking completely, I’ve removed the electronic component, and he’s just an empty Elmo skin that Percy still carries around.

I didn’t know that the cats could fit under the couch until Opie came popping out under my feet the other day!

Speaking of said couch, we got some new (used) furniture and our living room is feeling livable!

Big Guy is slowing down. He’s now happily staying inside the house from about 8 or 9 PM until about 6 or 7 AM.

Simple dinner. Polenta, tomato sauce I canned last summer, and some Trader Joe’s vegetarian chicken sausage.

Unplanned dinner that unfolded:  macaroni and cheese plus a simple green salad.

The lake here is still incredibly low — we could use a lot of moisture, otherwise it’ll be a long, dry summer around here…

I hope that the last two weeks have been wonderful for you, and that the one to come is also fantastic!
